5 pears, peeled, cored and sliced
4 tamarillos, peeled and chopped
1/3 cup honey
Juice of 1 lemon
1/4 cup water
1 cup plain flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/3 cup raw sugar
60 gm cold butter, cubed
1/2 cup NZ macadamia nuts, roughly chopped
Good Grocer mascarpone, to serve
1. Preheat the oven to 190°C. Put the pears, tamarillos, honey, juice and water into a saucepan. Cook over a medium heat for 5-10 minutes until pears are just tender.
2. Transfer fruit to an ovenproof dish or 4 individual pudding dishes, dividing it evenly.
3. Place the flour, oats, sugar and butter into a bowl. Using your fingertips, rub the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Alternatively, this step can be done in a food processor. Stir in the macadamia nuts.
4. Scatter the crumble mixture over the fruit. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the crumble is golden brown and the fruit bubbling hot. Serve with dollops of mascarpone or with scoops of Good Grocer gelato, as desired.
